Westerlo Library Notes for Wednesday, March 10, 2021

The Westerlo Library is open for limited browsing. There is a limited capacity of four patrons at a time and a time limit of 30 minutes. Face coverings and social distancing are still required.

Library hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2 to 7 p.m., and Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

First Annual Peepathon

Create art depicting a book or character using Peeps.

— We will provide each person who participates with one package of Peeps (each pack has five individual peeps);

— Create a diorama based on a book or literary character. You may add your own decorations and  props;

— All characters must be portrayed by Peeps. You may use more than the ones provided; and

— Please do not use any food (other than Peeps) in your art.

It begins on Monday, March 1. You may pick up your package of Peeps at the library (call to have them placed outside for you: 518-797-3415).  Send in a picture of your creation between Monday, March 29, and Saturday, April 3, to

If you do not have access to a camera or the internet, call us and we would be happy to take the picture for you in front of the library. The pictures will be put on display until Saturday, April 24, so patrons can view all of them.

Third Thursday

Book Club

The book club books for the month of March are “The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy” and “The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.” Both books are by Rachel Joyce and have intersecting stories.

 STEAM Kits

We have free STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) take-and-make kits available at our library.  March's theme is “Forces of Nature:  Air” — there are new kits available weekly.

Spice Club

The spice for March is ginger. Pick up a sample of ginger and three suggested recipes in the library vestibule during regular library hours.
