Pandemic Globe Project

Calling all artists, writers, and poets!

Each of us is experiencing the pandemic in our own way.

At the Westerlo Library, we would like to invite the community to participate in a “living history through art” project. We will provide each individual with one (or more) paper plate to decorate so that it reflects your experience with and feelings about the pandemic.

Participants are welcome to draw, paint, write poetry or a narrative, or produce a collage or a similar art form. The plates will be assembled into a globe (or globes) and displayed at the library once we are able to reopen fully.

After they are displayed, the globe will be deconstructed and the art will be preserved as part of a historical collection. You may pick your plate in the foyer of the library during regular hours, and place your completed work in the labeled box in the foyer during regular hours.

Please call 518-797-3415 with any questions or to arrange to pick up your plate.

Thank you for participating!

STEAM Kits

We have free STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math() take and make kits available at our library. March's theme is “Forces of Nature: Air” — there are new kits available weekly.

Spice Club

The spice for March is ginger. Pick up a sample of ginger and three suggested recipes in the library vestibule during regular library hours.

Share your opinion on the recipes by dropping a note in the book-drop, emailing , commenting on the Westerlo Library Facebook page, or joining our GoToMeeting on March 23 at 6 p.m. using the link on the library website (click on Adult Programs).
