Westerlo Library Notes for Wednesday, February 23, 2022
The Westerlo Library is conducting a survey to plan for the future. We want to know what you like about the library, and what we can improve on.
The survey is available on our website (westerlolibrary.org) and on the Library Facebook page as well as on good old paper. Stop in, have a warm drink, and fill one out. We really want to know!
New items
The library is still getting new books and movies. The supply chain did slow down over the last two years, but deliveries are picking back up!
Third Thursday
Book Club
The book club is reading “Normal People” by Sally Rooney. The Guardian writes, “Published in 2018 and longlisted for a Booker prize in the same year, Sally Rooney’s tale of fractured hearts and minds crosses class structure and Ireland from the west coast to Dublin.” The book club will meet March 17 at 6 p.m. in the library.
STEAM ahead
March’s theme for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) take-and-makes is Engineering Challenges. There are new kits every week. Homework Help packets are still available too.
March Spice
Take-and-Make
The March spice is cloves. Pick up a sample and three recipes at the library. This month’s recipes are Simple Chickpea Curry with Rice, Best Moist Orange Zucchini Bread, and Brazilian Roasted Pork.
Community Room
The Westerlo Library has a lovely community room for use by groups, for meetings. For more information, stop by for an application for use, or email: director@westerlolibrary.org.
