Westerlo Library Notes for Wednesday, February 22, 2023

The Third Thursday Book Club next meets on March 16 at 4 p.m.  Read “The Paris Library” by Janet Skeslien Charles and join in the discussion. Copies are available at the circulation desk.

Narcan program

On March 21 at 6:30 p.m., the library will present a program about opioids and Narcan with the Hudson Mohawk Area Health Education Center.  

Art exhibit

The work of Peter Keitel of South Westerlo is hanging in the library gallery space for the rest of February. Peter works in a photorealistic style with acrylics.

After school

and story time

Lego Club will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Mondays. Come create with Lego!  

Story time is at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays. Join Miss Lee for stories, music, and movement.

Homework Club and STEM activities are on Thursdays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Get some help with homework and do some STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) activities.

Tech help

If you need help setting up a new device or learning how to use software, we can help. Drop in on Mondays from 2 to 7 p.m. for one-on-one instruction. Or call 518-797-3415 for an appointment.

Résumé help

The library has free access to Cypress Résumé. Cypress can be used on the public computers in the library or you can use it on your own computer at home. It makes completing a résumé, cover letters, and reference pages quick and easy.

Trustees meet

The Westerlo Library Board of Trustees will next meet on March 8 at 7 p.m. in the library. This meeting is open to the public.

April programs

The library is having programs every Wednesday in April. All programs are at 1 p.m.  On the 5th, we have an in-person Medicare program. The 12th is a virtual presentation on Advance Care Planning (Wills and Health Care Proxies). April 19 is a virtual presentation about lowering prescription costs, and the 26th is a virtual program about Identity Theft.
