Westerlo Library Notes for Wednesday, January 29, 2020

Let’s kick off February with Bring Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, Feb. 1! All children are welcome to read to some of the many stuffed animals at the library, play with the puzzles and toys we have, do a craft, and of course check out books and DVDs.

Come have some animal crackers and a juice pack in the Community Room. It will also be a great day to get your child a first library card if he or she doesn’t have one yet. Children of all ages and stages are always welcome at the library.

Technology Walk-In Wednesdays

Do you have a new smartphone or tablet, but don’t know how to download digital materials? Need to brush up on your computer skills — or obtain basic skills? 

See Amy on Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for free,  personalized, one-on-one instruction.

Story time   

Wednesday mornings 11 a.m. for stories, songs, and movement activities designed for toddlers to children up to 5 years old.

Lego Club

Drop in on Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. to play and create with Legos. Come join the fun!

Memoir Writing Group

The Memoir Writing Group will meet Saturday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m.  This group provides its members a safe and supportive place to learn together.

Led by Lila Hollister Smith, the group is open to all who are interested in self-expression through the art of writing. The group meets once a month on the second Saturday of each month and new members are welcome.

Trustee meet

The monthly Westerlo Library Board of Trustees meeting will take place on Monday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. in the Hannay Community Room. This meeting is open to the public.

GOP meets

The Westerlo GOP will be meeting Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Hannay Community Room in the library. This meeting is open to the public.

Homebound Delivery Service

Can’t make it to the library? Let the library Come to you! Maybe you’ve had surgery or just don’t drive anymore. If you would like to take advantage of borrowing books, movies, and audiobooks, your public library is standing by to help.

Our Homebound Delivery Service is a free library delivery service provided to the residents of the town of Westerlo who are unable to visit the library. If you think this service might be right for you — or a friend or family member — call (or visit) the library during regular business hours at 518-797-3415.
