Westerlo Library Notes for Wednesday, January 20, 2021
We have free STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) take-and-make kits available at our library. January's theme is “Paper Toys That Move.” There are new kits available weekly. We still have some kits from December — that theme was STEM Art.
Exploratory Series
In February, the Hilltown libraries, in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County, will present a 4-H Virtual Exploratory Series. A weekly Zoom session will be available (but not necessary for participation) and project kits will be available for pickup at the libraries. Please see our Facebook page for additional information.
All programs and kits are free unless otherwise noted.
Spice Club
The spice for January is cardamom. Pick up a sample of cardamom and three suggested recipes in the library vestibule during regular library hours.
Share your opinion on the recipes by dropping a note in the book-drop, emailing , commenting on the Westerlo Library Facebook page, or joining our GoToMeeting on Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. using the link on the library website (click on Adult Programs).
Book Club
Third Thursday Book Club books are available. Choose one or more of the following selections: “The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry” by Gabrielle Zevin, “Anxious People” by Fredrik Backman, of “Where Did You Go, Bernadette?” by Maria Semple.
You may order them through the Upper Hudson Library System or call the library. Special collections
We have recently added new material to our collections. In the coming weeks, we’ll share information on our new material here as well as through our website and facebook. In the meantime, since we are currently providing curbside service only, if you are looking for a particular book or DVD, call the library at 518-797-3415 to see if we have it available.
