Think cold, think cool, think chilly winter fun! Join Mrs. Brown and Ms. Amy at the Voorheesville Public Library at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, for a snow-tastic day of winter-themed STEAM!
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math stations may include snowman shape matching, playing with snow-dough, making a neat optical illusion trick called a Thaumatrope, and as a special treat, we will be making ice cream! It’s never too cold for that!
This event is for children ages 3 to 7 with a caregiver’ please register.
Bricks, Bits, & Bots
We’ve got Lego bricks for all ages and stages. From toddlers, to tweens and up, everyone is invited to drop in at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28 and start building. You can also program the Ozobots or build an invention with the littleBits. No registration is needed.
Kids’ Movie Matinee
Join us at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, for a kids movie matinee. I can’t tell you the title here, but this Incredible 2018 animated film has Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible) caring for the kids while Helen (Elastigirl) is out saving the world. Rated PG, and runs one-hours and 58 minutes.

Winter Film Festival
Dennis Sullivan will be our host for the Second Annual Winter Film Festival. This year, Dennis has chosen four directors/films that focus on life, death, dance, and subversion.
Mark your calendars for Director, Terry Jones, Jan. 16; Director, Michael Haneke, Jan. 23; Federico Fellini, Jan. 30; and Director, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, Feb. 13. All programs will start at 6 p.m., with discussion and insights. Light refreshments will be served. Check the library calendar or call for film title. No registration needed.
Philosophers 101
People with opinions welcome! No registration needed, just drop in at the next meeting, 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, and find a seat. This is a very casual group and no homework!
Nimblefingers
Nimblefingers is a wonderful group of ladies (gentlemen are welcome!) who meet at the library every Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. to socialize and connect with other crafters. Bring your own project to work on while you talk.
You can share your own talents or learn a new one. They also have some really tasty snacks!
Thursday Afternoon Movies
Join us every Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. for a classic movie, with movie stars from bygone eras. We also talk trivia and Hollywood gossip.
All movies are scheduled by request, so tell us what you want to see. 2019 has some great picks! For movie titles, stop by or call the library. Light refreshments served.
Holiday hours
In observance of the Christmas Holiday, the library will be closed on Monday, Dec. 24 and Tuesday, Dec. 25. The library will resume regular hours at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
