Voorheesville Library Notes for Wednesday, December 9, 2020

There are still a few openings for the virtual ugly-sweater party. What could be more fun than dressing in your holiday worst, and joining a Zoom party from the comfort of your own home?

Register online for this Thursday, Dec. 17, party. You’ll need to call to set up a convenient time to pick up your party kit, filled with lots of goodies and holiday cheer! Then sit back and join us at 6:30 p.m., for a safe and fun holiday party.

Gingerbread Playdough

Take & Make Kits

Families with children ages 4 to 7 are invited to register for a take & make gingerbread playdough kit. Teen volunteers will be measuring and assembling the kits, so all you’ll need to do is cook the playdough on your stovetop, pat it, and roll it, and cut it into shapes. Limit 1 kit per family.

Pajama Party

Virtual Story Time

Let’s wear pajamas while we enjoy stories about animals wearing their pajamas. Families of preschool aged children are invited to enjoy a theme-based, multi-age virtual storytime with an emphasis on early literacy. Mrs. Brown and Miss Lisa will video record a short storytime with an accompanying art activity.

The video link will be posted on the library's website, all of the library's social media platforms, and on the library's YouTube channel. Families of preschoolers can pick up a take & make bag at the library each week. The bag will include the storytime thematic art activity of the week. Each week's bags will be at the library from Tuesday-Saturday of that week. No registration required.

Teen Bookflix Club

There are so many great young-adult books being optioned into movies. Do you read the book first? Or do you want to see the movie first? Either way, why not join the Bookflix Club?

Register online to receive a daring Dash & Lily party kit and the private link to meet online from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30. Open to teens 13 and up.
