Join us at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 15 as we meet at the Hilton Barn, on Hilton Road. The Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy will lead a guided walk along David’s Trail at the Bender Melon Farm Preserve.

This will be an easy walk, along fairly smooth terrain, that is perfect for beginners. The hike will be at a casual pace, and should last about 90 minutes. This program is made possible through a grant from the Northeast Wellness and Fitness Initiative. Please register in advance.

Teen Time

Students in grades 6 and up are invited to come to the library at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct.14 after school to unwind and get ready for the weekend. You can play video or tabletop games, do craft projects, or just sit back and relax. Snacks are provided, so please register in advance.

History Walk

with Mr. Ulion

Local history guide Dennis Ulion will lead you on a 2-plus mile walk through Voorheesville, and down memory lane. Meet us at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 14, at the overflow parking area for St. Matthew’s on Mountainview. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing layers, as the weather is turning chilly.  Please register

Great Give Back

Only one week left to participate in our community-wide donation drive. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a volunteer organization that builds beds for kids (ages 3 to 17) who are sleeping on the floor. The library will be collecting new (in original packaging) twin sheet sets, comforters, and pillows until October 15. Children’s or teen-themes are appropriate, as are solid colors. In addition, we’ll also be collecting funds to build beds. For more ways to be involved, visit www.shpbeds.org. Thank you in advance, for your generosity.

Linda Brown

Jazz Project

Stop by the library at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, to listen to bassist Linda Brown, guitarist Mike Novakowski, and violinist/vocalist Teresa Broadwell, as they perform some jazz standards with great melodies and a swing feel. Music is co-sponsored by the Music Performance Trust Fund and the Voorheesville Public Library, arranged by the Albany Musicians Association. No registration needed.
