Voorheesville Library Notes for Wednesday, September 11, 2019

Magic the Gathering is the world’s most popular strategy card game. During a match, players cast devastating spells, summon creatures of legend, and wield powerful artifacts to best their opponents in a battle of wits.

Come learn to play at the Voorheesville Public Library. Free decks are available for beginners. Already know how? Join us from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, and find new opponents and pick up some free booster cards to build your deck. All ages, please register.

Beading Workshop

Learn easy beading techniques for making simple necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. The library provides tools and offers a variety of beads to choose from, or you are welcome to bring your own supplies and projects along.

Check out our beading books and magazines for inspiration. This program runs from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, but you may arrive at any time during the workshop that fits your schedule. Adults and teens ages 14 and up. Please register.

Flu shots

The library is pleased to host the pharmacists from our own Voorheesville Hannaford Pharmacy who will be administering flu immunizations on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 1 to 3 p.m.  Please stop in or call the Library Information Desk at 518-765-2791 to schedule a specific time slot.

Walk-ins are also welcome. Flu shots are free with most insurance policies. If you are unsure of your policy requirements, the Voorheesville Hannaford can pre-check your insurance at the store at your convenience.

Talk and Taste Cookbook Group

Join us at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, for our newest foodie journey. Every other month, we talk and taste our way through a different cookbook. Read the latest choice, try out the recipes, and (best part!) bring a dish for everyone to sample on discussion night.

Everyone is welcome. A limited number of books are available to purchase for $5 or you can check out a library copy.  Registration required. This month, the choice is: Katie Lee's Easy-Breezy Eats: The Endless Summer Cookbook by Katie Lee.

Teen Time

School is back in session, which means Teen Time is back as well. Students in grades 6 and up can take the bus to the Library after school on Friday, Sept. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m., to unwind, play geeky games, use the laptops, or make something. Space on the bus is limited; please register.
