On Monday, Aug. 12, at 1:30 p.m., enjoy The Phantom Tollbooth rated G at the Voorheesville Public Library; ride with Milo into a world that combines enchantment with visual joy.
Then on Monday, Aug. 19, at 1:30 p.m., enjoy this magical animated adventure, James and the Giant Peach rated PG based on a terrific children’s book written by Roald Dahl. James and the Giant Peach tells the story of a young boys journey and his unforeseen encounters with human-sized insects and a juicy, giant peach.
Body image workshop
Attention girls grades 7 and up, on Thursday, Aug, 22, at 6 p.m., join us for this important workshop. Media messages tell girls what the perfect body is, but reality is that everyone is different. Diane Blinn, clinical social worker and Pat Barber, manager and prsonal trainer at Gold’s Gym will help girls accept their bodies the way they are and promote the idea that true beauty comes from inside. Nutritious snacks will be served. Moms are welcome.
Concert
Come enjoy the atmosphere at 6:30 p.m,. on Aug. 14, when Captain Squeeze and the Zydeco Moshers takes the stage at the library for the 3rd concert in our Together at Twilight series. This program will happen rain or shine.
Book sale
In anticipation of our annual fall book sale, scheduled for Sept. 20 through 22, the library is now accepting book and dvd donations.
