Voorheesville Library Notes for Wednesday, June 22, 2022

Summer Tots: Children from newborns up to age 30 months, with a caretaker, are invited to join Miss Lisa on Thursday mornings, at 10 a.m. We’ll meet for some fun programs featuring songs, fingerplays, books, and toys. Weather permitting, we’ll have some water play outside as well. 

Teen Time

Teens are welcome to come use the library's maker equipment and supplies. Learn about 3D printing, use the sewing machines or littleBits electronic components, create with sticker circuits or STEAM kits. Craft and art supplies are available too -- just bring along your creativity! There is definitely something for everyone. Please register to join in the fun at  2 p.m., Monday, June 27.

Bubble Trouble!

Come one, come all, at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 29 to the First United Methodist Church, 68 Maple Ave. Let's kick off the Summer Reading Program with zany, world-famous, Guinness Book of World Records-holding, master bubble wrangler, Jeff Boyer! Mixing comedy, music, and interactive bubble magic, Jeff engages and delights audiences of all ages with a sensory-friendly bubble extravaganza for the whole family. For children of all ages and families. No registration required. This program is made possible through the generosity of the Stewart's Holiday Match Grant.  

Manga madness

Manga readers are invited to pick up a copy of “Behind the Scenes” by Bisco Hatori, then join the Art Squad at 6:30 p.m. for a fun evening of manga activities on Thursday, June 30. Play an improv game, learn some movie make-up tips and enjoy some Japanese food. Cosplay encouraged, since the Art Squad works with all of the film clubs on campus! Grades 8-12, please register.

Summer Reading Bingo

From July 1 thru Aug. 26, patrons of all ages can play summer reading bingo. Pick up a new game card at the library, or print one out from the website, every two weeks. Complete two lines in any direction to win a bookmark, pin or magnet. Complete the entire card to pick a prize from the prize box. No registration needed. 

Summer hours

Beginning July 3, the library will be closed on Sundays through the summer. Summer Hours will run through Labor Day, and regular hours will return on Sunday, Sept. 11. 

Holiday

The library will be closed on Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

Musical story time

Come to a deep dive with Miss Lisa’s ocean-themed musical story time at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, July 12. With some familiar favorites and new music just for the summer programs, we’ll sing, dance, and play instruments while we explore Oceans of Possibilities together. For children ages 2-6  with a caregiver. Please register.

Sea life

fabric postcards

Join us at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12 to create a colorful collage postcard using fabric, scissors, an iron, and a little machine-sewing. All supplies provided. Grades 7 and up, including adults. Please register.
