Make a unique, freeform decorative ceramic tile painting using the hot new medium of alcohol inks.

On Saturday, June 2, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, artist Lydia Lynch, will at the Voorheesville Public Library, demonstrating basic application techniques and describing how different effects can be achieved.

All materials will be supplied, including a small easel to display your creation. It is suggested that you wear an old shirt, apron, or smock. Adults and teens (age 12 and older) are welcome; please register.

Artist reception

Local artist Diane Wozniak will be holding a reception in the community room, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 2. Stop by to meet the artist, enjoy some light refreshments and meander through the gallery to enjoy Diane’s work.

Getting started with computers

This class is intended for new and infrequent computer users. We’ll touch on the mouse and keyboard before moving on to the basics of launching and interacting with programs.

Participants can bring their own devices, or use one of the Library’s laptops. Classes will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, and at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6. Please register for one class only as space is very limited.

Gentle Adult Yoga

Gentle Yoga is a calming, stress-relieving yoga class that stretches and strengthens the body gradually. Emphasis is on building awareness of the breath and the body. Gentle yoga is recommended for all levels looking for a soothing, relaxing, and restorative experience!

Please bring a mat and water bottle. Please register for this 1 p.m. class on Saturday, June 9.

Second Sunday Films

Join us at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 10, for an informative film.

“When a group of gay and lesbian activists begin to raise money to help families affected by the British miners’ strike in 1984, they initially face resistance but when they give their donations directly to a small village in Wales, a surprising alliance forms,” writes IMDb, the Internet Movie Database.

The film is rated R, and runs for 119 minutes. Light refreshments will be served.

Make a wire ring

This month, you can learn how to make a simple ring with wire, buttons, or beads if you’d like.

Class will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, but you may arrive at any time during the workshop that fits your schedule. The workshop is for adults and teens ages 14 and up.

Please register, and there will be a small materials fee depending on the project you choose.

Teen volunteer orientation

Students entering grade seven and up can earn community service credit for volunteering at the library. Fill out a form prior to this mandatory orientation from 4 to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 15.
