Voorheesville Library Notes for Thursday, April 23, 2020

Your library card can be your ticket to many online resources. As many of you know, the Voorheesville Public Library is part of the Upper Hudson Library System.

What does that mean for you? It means that, not only do you have access to all of the library’s online catalogue, which is growing by the day, but you also have access to thousands of other titles as well. It’s easy to access and borrow these digital materials using Overdrive or Libby on your computer or mobile device.

You can check out up to 10 items and, if there is no waiting list, you can renew them each once. There are no late fees, because when they are due, they just disappear from your bookshelf.

Once you have downloaded Libby or Overdrive, all you need is your library card and a valid email address to get started. If you need a library card, you may apply online from our website and begin using it immediately.

Hoopla

Hoopla is a new digital media service offered by the Voorheesville Public Library. Hoopla allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics, and TV shows instantly.

There is no need to wait for a title to become available. All titles can be streamed immediately, or downloaded to phones or tablets, to enjoy offline at your convenience. Check it out at www.voorpl.org. You’ll need to create a free account, using your Voorheesville Library card.

Library from Home

We have a new page on our website called “Library from Home.” It’s a wonderful resource for students and parents now at home, distance-learning. There are links to resources, projects, and more for all of your educational needs.
