Meet the author

Children aged 4 and up, with family, are invited to join us at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Apr. 19, for a paws-itively good time as we meet Lucky, the canine star of three books, and his mom, author Elizabeth Macy! The program will include storytime, a craft, Q & A with Elizabeth, and a meet and greet with Lucky. Books will be available for sale and signing for $15.

Fantastic

Harry Potter Games

Students in grades 4-8 are invited to join us at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Apr. 20 as we celebrate the release of the new Fantastic Beasts movie. Can you solve the Fantastic Beasts Breakout Challenge? Or if board games are more your thing, let’s play a Harry Potter themed clue game.

Earth Day

Family Celebration

Come visit the Thacher Nature Center with Miss Lisa as we learn about our local environment at 10 a.m., Friday, Apr. 22. Students in grades k-5, w/family, will create earth-themed crafts, explore nature, and have fun while visiting with friends and family.

Creativity Lab

Celebrate Earth Day by sewing your own reusable cloth tote bags. Students in grades 6-12 are invited to earn some community service time at 2 p.m., Friday, Apr. 22, as you put your basic sewing knowledge to good use to sew an extra bag for the food pantry.

Voorheesville

History Walk

Take a trip down memory lane with local history guide Dennis Ulion at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Apr. 23. We’ll learn about how Voorheesville became a village, and how it has grown to where it is today. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, as this walk is over 2 miles.

Anti-racism

Learning Circles

Join us at 7 p.m., Thursday, Apr. 28 in a virtual program as we explore anti-racist ideas and practices through books, articles, video and podcasts. Watch “Just Belonging: Finding the Courage to Interrupt Bias”, a TEDTalk by Kori Carew. The link is on our event calendar. Be ready to have honest conversations and grow your understanding. Ground rules will be shared in advance. You will receive the link after you have registered.

Bald eagle

adventure

Join the library as we learn about the bald eagles that have nested on the shore of Thompson’s Lake. All registrants should meet at the Nature Center (87 Stan Levine Dr., Thacher Park) at 1 p.m., Saturday, Apr. 30. This program is appropriate for adults and seniors.
