Karen Roberts Mort of the Cornell Cooperative Extension will present tried and true tips to help you create soups and stews from simple ingredients.

Join us at the Voorheesville Public Library on tonight Thursday, March 30, from 6 to 8 p.m., to sample some nourishing and warming dishes, take home a collection of recipes, and build confidence to make your own new recipes at home.

The Slow Road to Citizenship

Join us on Monday, April 3 at 7 p.m. for a look at racism in the United SsWe will discuss the key rights established by court rulings and legislation, and we will examine those rights in operation.

Issues will be addressed in their historical context, and the workings of the legal system will be explored. The program will be led by Stephan Haimowitz (JD, Rutgers University, 1975) who has worked on a broad range of civil rights matters. All are welcome!

A trip to Asia in a cup

Join us on Tuesday, April 4 at 6:30 p.m., as we embark on a tour of the different expressions of the tea plant while learning how to brew whole leaf teas. Explore and taste the different production styles of tea:  white, green, oolong, black, and pu-erh.

Come ready to experience tea in its purest form as we explore what the craftsmanship of man can produce from simply a bud and a leaf. Presented by Hayley Stevens Miller, managing partner of Saratoga Tea and Honey.

Candling the Eggs

The Voorheesville Public Library is excited to host an egg incubator where we will watch real chicks hatch. The incubator has been in the library since March 29.

Educator, naturalist, and chicken expert George Steele, returns to candle the eggs on Saturday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m., exactly nine days after setting them in the incubator.

What has happened inside the egg? How have the chicks developed? What fascinating things can we see inside the egg? Join us for an educational morning as we await the arrival of the chicks during Spring break. All ages welcome.

The next board of trustees meeting will be held in the library community room at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 24.
