On Monday, April 2, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. children of all ages are invited to watch the pony movie we all love. After a dark force conquers Canterlot, the Mane 6 embark on an unforgettable journey beyond Equestria, where they meet new friends and exciting challenges on a quest to use the magic of friendship to save their homeland. Movie is rated PG and runs for 99 minutes. Light refreshments will be served. For movie title, please call, stop in, or check the online calendar.
Parachute Play and Music Program
Join Ms. Rose of Rose's Joyful Noise at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3 for a fun time of singing, dancing, and parachute play celebrating the arrival of spring! For children ages 2 to 6 with parent/caregiver. Please register.
Antartica Exploration
Join us at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3 as Master Sergeant Will Gizara of the 109th Airlift Wing of the NY National Guard will share his exciting experiences serving in Antarctica. For ages 5 to adult. Please register
American Girl Tea Party
You are cordially invited to join us for an afternoon tea party at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4. Please bring a favorite doll or stuffed friend to join in the festivities. The party will include refreshments, a craft, and a short presentation on two of the newest American Girls, Nanea, whose story is set in Pearl Harbor in the 1940's, and Luciana Vega, an aspiring astronaut. For children ages 3 to 11 with parent/caregiver. Please register.
Mother Daughter Beading Workshop
Learn easy beading techniques for making simple necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Mothers, grandmothers and aunts are encouraged to bring a child to bead along with them on Wednesday, April 4, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Recommended for ages 11 and up. Please register and there will be a small materials fee, depending on which project(s) you choose.
Book discussion and author Skype
Join seventh grader, Jason Zeliph, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 5 as he facilitates a peer-led book discussion of the second book in one of his favorite series, “Wings of Fire.” The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with pizza, discussion and book-related activities. At 6:30 p.m. we are expecting a special visit from author Tui Sutherland via Skype. Ms. Sutherland will speak about her many popular middle-grade books, including the “Wings of Fire” series. The author Skype portion of the evening is open to anyone interested. Students in grades 4 to 7, please register for the book discussion and pick up a copy of the book at the information desk
