Voorheesville Library Notes for Friday, March 9, 2018

The Enterprise — Michael Koff

A thank you for a thank you: A flag from the 379th Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron sits on the check-out counter of the Voorheesville Public Library. The flag was flown on Dec. 8, 2017, during a combat aeromedical evacuation mission, which transported six American service members some 1150 miles from Afghanistan to Qatar in the Persian Gulf. The flag is a thank-you for care packages of donated goods that were sent from the library to local troops during their deployment. The last line of the citation reads, “In honor of your good deeds, this flag is proudly presented to the Voorheesville Public Library.”

Take the bus to the Voorheesville Public Library after school for Teen Time on Friday, March 16 and 23, to unwind, play games, or make something.

Use SimCity, Scratch, the Leap Motion, 3D scanner, or 3D printer with our laptops. Teach yourself Tinkercad or Sculptris, invent something with the littleBits electronics kits, or program the Ozobots.  We have Sticker Circuits, paper, fabric and craft supplies available if you want to get creative.

Teen Time is open to students in grade 6 and up. Space on the bus route is limited, so please register.
