Craft & Chat

Grab your latest craft project and join fellow crafters at 6:30 p.m, Thursday, March 18, for some casual conversation about our latest projects, or anything else that might pop up. Register online to receive the Zoom link.

Let’s talk about fish

Presented by Karen Roberts Mort, of Cornell Cooperative Extension, the library will host a virtual program on fishing in New York State. The state’s Department of Health issues fishing advisories and detailed maps.

Join us at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 11, as we learn how to put this DOH information to use. There may even be some healthy and delicious cooking tips.

Candy dioramas

Students in grades 5 thru 9 are invited to create a favorite book scene, using Peeps. You can pick up a small bag of mixed candy from the library after 11 a.m., Friday, March 19. That will get you started as you add more supplies from your own pantry.

Build a backdrop from recycled cardboard, use small toys as props, and get out the art supplies to bring your book scene to life! Email us a photo of your creation to be entered into our virtual exhibit in April.

Teens Care

Community Service

Teens needing community service time are invited to watch Amanda, of Clear Star Studios, to learn how to crochet a reusable cotton dishcloth to use at home. Supply pick-up starts on March 12 at 11 a.m., watch the video-recorded tutorial link when you choose.

Two hours of community service will be earned for following the lesson and crocheting one reusable dishcloth. Earn more time as you crochet extras to donate to the food pantry. Please register online to receive the tutorial link.

Virtual

story time

No registration is needed, and the video link will be available on the library website and social media sites, to view at your convenience.

Families of preschoolers may pick up a free take-and-make bag at the library each week, from Tuesday-Saturday. The bag will include the storytime thematic art activity of the week.

Check out some of these storytime themes:

— Up, Up, and Away! Available beginning March 9; and

How Are You Feeling? Available beginning March 16.

Miss Lisa will post a short video to get you going on this project, which will be available virtually starting 11 a.m., March 15.
