Voorheesville Library Notes for Thursday, February 14, 2019
Children ages 3 to 8 and their caregivers are invited to join us at the Voorheesville Public Library from 10:30 a.m. to noon, on Tuesday, Feb. 19, for a comfy, cozy, and delicious story time with pancake- and pajama-themed books, activities, and food!
Pancakes are fun to eat and pajamas are fun to wear, so come eat pancakes while wearing your pajamas! A yummy pancake breakfast will follow the story time. Please register.
Puppet show
Aye Aye matey and shiver me timbers! With fun songs featuring mandolin and harmonica, Pete and Sam, his parrot puppet, will bring their own brand of humor to this uproariously fun and interactive show.
Pete’s magic segment is always a favorite. The one hour show starts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19. Children of all ages and their families are invited. No registration is required.
Kids’ Movie Matinee
Join us at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, for the third film in this fun, family series.
“Join Drac, Mavis and all of your favorite monsters for fun and adventure on the high seas as they embark on a monster cruise vacation.” says the Internet Movie Database. The movie is rated PG, and runs for 97 minutes.
Popcorn and light refreshments will be served. No registration required.
Locked in the Library: Movie Edition
The bestselling young-adult book, “The Hate U Give,” which became a blockbuster teen movie, is out on video. Students in grades 9 and up are invited to join us at 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15, for pizza, snacks, and viewing after hours at the Library. Please register.
Bar Crawl!
So you think you can bake? Join us from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, for a bake-off. Bring your baked goods and leave a champion!
Will the Billionaire Shortbread, the Peanut Butter Brownies, or the Banana Pudding Cheesecake take the crown? Prizes will be awarded.
Bricks, Bits, & Bots
We’ve got Lego bricks for all ages and stages, toddlers to tweens; everyone is welcome to drop in from 10:30 a.m. to noon, on Friday, Feb. 18, and enjoy building together.
You can also program the Ozobots or build an invention with the littleBits. No registration is necessary.
3D Printing Drop-In Time
The 3D printer is warmed up and ready to go! Drop in from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, to learn the basics of our Lulzbot Mini 2, get started with TinkerCad, troubleshoot a tricky build, or anything else 3D Print related.
Holiday hours
In observance of President’s Day, the library will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18.
Register
Registering for programs helps us to determine supply needs. Unless otherwise indicated, registration is requested for all programs.

Snow delays
If the Voorheesville schools are delayed by two hours due to weather, all morning youth programs will be cancelled. If school is cancelled, all youth programs for the day are cancelled. Call to check on adult afternoon or evening programs.
