Voorheesville Library Notes for Friday, February 9, 2018

Join us at the Voorheesville Public Library to watch a film that tells the true story of Richard and Mildred Loving. The couple was arrested for interracial marriage in 1960s’ Virginia and fought a legal battle that would end with the Supreme Court’s 1967 decision.

The film will start at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11, and run for 123 minutes. It’s rated pg-13. Light refreshments will be served.

Adult Coloring Book Club

You are invited to join the Adult Coloring Book Club, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14. The club meets every month so members can relax, listen to some soothing music, and color.

Come one time or come every month; it’s your choice. Registration is requested, so we will be sure to have enough supplies on hand.

Nimblefingers Open House

February is Nimblefingers month at the library. Come for an afternoon open house of demonstrations, friendship, and refreshments on Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 1 to 3 p.m.

View antique quilts during a bed-turning and vote for your favorite entry in the design challenge. Meet people who love to talk about crafting and have lots of tips and experiences to share.

Even if you can’t come for the afternoon, please drop in during February to stroll through the gallery and community room to enjoy the wonderful crafts these ladies have displayed for your pleasure. Since other programs are also held in the Library’s Community Room, check the calendar to plan your visit.
