Dennis Sullivan will be our host for the last film in the Second Annual Winter Film Festival series, from director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck.

Join us at 6 p.m. on Feb. 13 for discussion and insights on this award-winning film. Light refreshments will be served. Check the library calendar or call for film title. No registration needed.

Teen Time

Take the bus to the Library after school on Friday, February 1, to unwind, play games, or make something. Use SimCity, Scratch, the Leap Motion, or Minecraft on our laptops. Teach yourself Tinkercad or Sculptris, invent something with the littleBits electronics kits, or program the Ozobots.

We have Sticker Circuits, paper, fabric and craft supplies available if you want to get creative. This program is open to students in grade 6 and up. Space on the bus route is limited; please register.

Ventastic!

Celebrate “Take Your Child to the Library Day” on Saturday, Feb. 2 ,in a very special way with world-renowned professional actress, ventriloquist, and comedian Sylvia Fletcher, who will dazzle you with her amazing talent.

Sylvia’s performance will leave you laughing in pure amazement at her incredible talent. Join us from 2 to 3 p.m. This show is nothing short of “Ventastic”! No registration is required.

Nimblefingers​ Open House

Join the Nimblefingers for an open house at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, for an afternoon of demonstrations, refreshments, and friendship. View antique quilts during a bed-turning, and vote for your favorite entry in the design challenge.

Throughout the month, visitors to the library can enjoy the Nimblefingers’ exhibit of distinctive handcrafts and quilts in our Community Room. Since programs are also held in the Community Room, check the calendar to plan your visit.

Toddler Yoga Time

Toddlers and their parents or caregivers will enjoy flying like eagles, breathing like bunnies, standing tall like a tree and other fun poses, movements, and games to experience the benefits of yoga in these playful and music-filled classes. No previous experience is needed.

The class is taught by experienced yogi Janine Murphy, who has over 20 years of experience. Please bring a towel or mat. This program is for ages children who are 12 to 36 months old (your child must be walking) with their parents or caregivers.

Classes will be held in place of Library Tots, Thursday mornings from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Feb. 7, 14, 21, and 28. Please register for as many of the morning sessions as you are able to attend.

Snow delays

If the Voorheesville schools are delayed by two hours due to weather, all morning youth programs will be cancelled. If school is cancelled, all youth programs for the day are cancelled. Call to check on adult afternoon or evening programs.
