The Voorheesville Sexuality and Gender Alliance would like to invite community members to an open conversation about LGBTQ+ topics, acceptance, and our club.

The meeting will be held in the Voorheesville Public Library community room, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31. Please enter the library through the side doors, as the collection area will be closed. Please register

The Magic of Respect

Celebrate “Take Your Child to the Library Day” Saturday, Feb. 1 in a magical way with Jim Snack! Through an exciting magic show, children and families will explore important character lessons about respecting people and their property, taking care of the environment, and treating others with respect and dignity.

For grades kindergarten through sixth grade with families. This one hour program begins at 2 p.m., and no registration is required. (Snow date is 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 2)

Beading workshop

Learn easy beading techniques from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at the library. The library provides tools and offers a variety of beads to choose from, or you are welcome to bring your own supplies and projects along.

Check out our beading books and magazines for inspiration. You may arrive at any time during the workshop that fits your schedule. Adults and teens ages 14 and up. Please register.

Drop-In Device Advice

Drop-in technology advice is the first Wednesday of the month from 10 to 11 a.m. Stop by and meet Colleen, VPL’s Technology Librarian. Bring your new devices and account information, and we will show you how to download ebooks and audiobooks as well as other online services.

Valentine Sentiment Sign

On Saturday, Feb. 8, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, you are invited to join artist Lydia Lynch in making a Valentines plaque. We will embellish a small die-cut wood base with paper, decorative elements, and words of love to reflect the spirit of Valentine's Day.

All materials will be provided. This project is for people ages 10 through adults. Please register. The snow date is Sunday, Feb. 9, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Library Tots Special: Family Musical Movers

One of the talented instructors from our local dance, music, and yoga studio, Kind Performing Arts, will lead the children in a fun and interactive music and movement class from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 13.  For infants to 4-years-old with a caregiver. Registration requested.  

M&M Challenge

Do you consider yourself to be an M&M expert? Oh sure, you know the difference between regular and peanut M&M’s, but can you identify some of the more obscure flavors?

Stop by the library at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, for a blind M&M taste test, and find out just how many flavors you will recognize. Please register.
