Dennis Sullivan will be our host for the Second Annual Winter Film Festival. Mark your calendars for Director Federico Fellini on Jan. 30 and Director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck on Feb. 13.
All programs will start at 6 p.m., with discussion and insights. Light refreshments will be served. Check the library calendar or call for the film title. No registration is needed.
Talk & Taste Cookbook Group
Join us on our newest foodie journey. Read the latest choice, try out the recipes, and bring a dish for everyone to sample on discussion night. Experienced foodies and newbies are welcome.
A limited number of books are available to purchase for $5 or you can check out a library copy. Our January cookbook choice is “The Smitten Kitchen Every Day” by Deb Perelman. Join us at 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 24, and don’t forget your sample dish. Please register.
Teen Care for Shelter Animals
Spend your Friday afternoon off making some easy projects to comfort and amuse shelter animals. From noon to 2:30 p.m., Jan. 25, we’ll order pizza for lunch, or you can bring your own.
Participants earn two and a half hours of Community Service time. Grade 7 and up, please register.
Cloud storage basics
Want to get a handle on the nebulous “cloud?” Choose the morning or evening class, and we will demystify the cloud and look at its advantages and disadvantages.
Then we will spend time saving and managing files in the cloud and accessing them over the internet. Participants can bring their own devices, or use one of the library’s laptops. Please register for either session: 10:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 28, or 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29.
Nimblefingers Open House
Join the Nimblefingers at their Open House at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, for an afternoon of demonstrations, refreshments, and friendship. View antique quilts during a bed-turning and vote for your favorite entry in the design challenge.
Throughout the month, visitors to the library can enjoy the Nimblefingers exhibit of distinctive handcrafts and quilts in our Community Room. Since programs are also held in the Community Room, check the calendar to plan your visit.
Ventastic!
Celebrate “Take Your Child to the Library Day” on Saturday, Feb. 2, in a very special way with world-renowned professional actress, ventriloquist, and comedian Sylvia Fletcher, who will dazzle you with her amazing talent.
Sylvia’s performance will leave you laughing in pure amazement at her incredible talent. Join us from 2 to 3 p.m. This show is nothing short of “Ventastic”! No registration is required.
