Schoharie Library Notes for Wednesday, November 3, 2021

Schoharie Library hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursdays from noon to 7 p.m, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Please wear a face mask inside the library and when social distancing is not possible at outside events, regardless of vaccination status.

Programs

In-person programs include:

— Teen Thursday@YourLibrary: Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m., starting Nov. 4. Share book and reading recommendations, play games, craft your own projects, and more;

— Story Time on the Porch with Miss Yvonne: Stories, songs, fun activities! Fridays at 10 a.m.;

— Meet the Authors: Saturday, Nov. 6, from noon to 2 p.m. Local authors Niamh Schmid and Rebecca Schmid present their fantasy novels, “The Exiled: Of Shade and Shadow” and “To Take a World: The Ghostmaker.”  Jack Nanuq presents his spy/mystery/thriller, “Parabellum.” Readings, book signings, giveaways; and

— Knitcetera Club: Tuesdays, Nov. 9 and 23, at 10:30am. Knit, crochet, sew, work on a project — beginners welcome!

— Kids Gotta Cook: Mondays, Nov. 8 and 15, at 4 p.m. Prepare something tasty at home with an online lesson from Cornell Cooperative Extension nutrition educator, Kimberly;

— Writing for Resilience and Creativity: A Workshop in Expressive Writing will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m. to noon on Zoom. Elaine Handley, Ph.D. will facilitate. — UFO (Unfinished Object Club): Thursdays, Nov. 4 and 18, at 10 a.m.;

— Create a Grapevine Teardrop Wreath: Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 4 p.m. Presented on Zoom by Sally Ziegler; and

— Tech Savvy: Navigating the Virtual Classroom on Thursday, Nov. 18, at 6:30 p.m. Presented by Marion Burghart, school librarian. For parents and caregivers of students using Google Classroom and Schoology. Keep track of assignments, activities, projects, and grades, communicate with teachers, gain an overview of what — and how — your child is doing.
