Schoharie Library Notes for Wednesday, October 20, 2021

Schoharie Library hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursdays from noon to 7 p.m, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Please wear a face mask inside the library and when social distancing is not possible at outside events, regardless of vaccination status. Thank you!

Programs

In-person programs include:

— Story Time on the Porch with Miss Yvonne: Stories, songs, fun activities! Fridays at 10 a.m.;

— Knitcetera Club: Tuesday, Oct,. 26, at 10:30 a.m.;

— Halloween Celebration: Thursday, Oct. 28, at 4 p.m. Scary stories on the porch with Miss Yvonne, a costume parade, and games;

— Teen Thursday@YourLibrary: Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m., starting Nov. 4. Share book and reading recommendations, play games, craft your own projects, have a say in library programs and materials; and

— Meet the Authors: Saturday, Nov. 6, from noon to 2 p.m. Niamh Schmid and Rebecca Schmid present their fantasy novels, “The Exiled :Of Shade and Shadow” and “To Take a World: The GhostMaker,” and Jack Nanuq presents his thriller, “Parabellum.” Readings and book signing.

— Writing Club: Mondays 6:30 p.m.;

— UFO (Unfinished Object Club): Thursday, Oct. 21, at 10 a.m.;

— Create a Beaded Flower Motif: Saturday, Oct. 23, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Zoom. Instructor: Betty Fikes Pillsbury. Materials provided, registration required;

— Kids Gotta Cook: Mondays, Nov. 8 and 15 at 4 p.m. Cook along at home with Cornell Cooperative Extension nutrition educator, Kimberly, for a short nutrition lesson that ends with a healthy, tasty dish to enjoy. The recipes will be easy to prepare, using typical kitchen tools and affordable ingredients; and

— Writing for Resilience and Creativity: A Workshop in Expressive Writing on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m. to noon on Zoom. Facilitator: Elaine Handley, Ph.D. Learn to use writing as a tool for coping, deeper insight and expression in order to grow and develop as a person and writer.
