Schoharie Library Notes for Tuesday, October 11, 2022

The Schoharie Library is open on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.; on Thursday from noon to 7 p.m.; and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We’re are currently offering these programs:

— Teen Thursday: Every Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Come hang out in our Teen Room — socialize, create in our Makerspace, play board games, code with our Dash Robot, share book recommendations, and much more! Kids ages 13 to young adults are welcome! No registration is required;

— E-books, audiobooks, and magazines (for free) — Oh My!: Thursday, Oct. 13, at 5 p.m. Learn how to access these digital format reads using the Libby App available for free from the library! All are welcome to join in person at the library or on Zoom. Sign up at: https://bit.ly/SHOLibby;

— Story time with Miss Yvonne: Fridays at 10 a.m. Stories, songs, fun activities; 

— Writing Club (Virtual): Mondays at 6:30 p.m. https://bit.ly/SchoharieLibraryPrograms;

— Middle Grade book group: Oct. 17, 4:15 p.m. Youth grades 3rd -6th are welcome to join Yvonne to read a chapter book each month. We will cover the different genres, reading the group’s chosen book together. We will meet every two weeks for refreshments and discussion. Anyone interested in participating should complete the signup https://bit.ly/MGBookGroupSHO so we can request copies of the book for everyone. For October we are reading Coraline or The Graveyard Book, both by Neil Gaiman.  We will have a Coraline Celebration for our readers on Wednesday October 27th after the Halloween Bash (approx. 5:30pm)!  Costumes welcome;

— Finding your Way, in the Library! Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022, 5 p.m. Where can you go to find the books you'd like? What's with this online catalog? How can you request books to come to our branch? Come Learn! Bring your own device! No registration required;

— Virtual UFO Club: Thursday, Oct. 20, 10 a.m. Work on projects and chat. Signup: https://bit.ly/SchoharieLibraryPrograms;

— Feeding the Birds and Cleaning Your Feeders: Thursday, Oct. 20, 6 p.m. Learn about which foods are best for the birds you want to attract, and how to care for bird feeders and nests. Presented by Teresa Parisi-Murphy, Audubon Society of the Capital District;

— Knitcetera at the Library: Tuesday, Oct. 25, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Embroider, sew, knit, anything goes;

— Tech Savvy Virtual Program: Living in an Online World*:  .Tuesday, Oct. 25, 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Make informed decisions about the pros and cons of living in an online world. — Halloween Costume Party: Thursday, Oct. 27, 4 to 5:30 p.m. Join us for games, refreshments, and a costume parade around the library; and
