Schoharie Library Notes for Wednesday, October 7, 2020

The Schoharie Library welcomes patrons back into the library. Our hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday from noon to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Patrons are required to wear a mask to enter the library and staff will wear masks at all times.

Return books in book-drop. Details about the library’s reopening plan and curbside pickup can be found on the library website, www.schoharielibrary.org

StoryWalk 

Miss Heather’s new Fall Leaves StoryWalk and activity sheets are available outside the Schoharie Library! StoryWalk® was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and has developed with the help of Rachel Senechal, Kellogg-Hubbard Library.

Online Programs

Schoharie Library Online Programs: To sign up for online programs, contact or click the link to the sign-up sheet at www.schoharielibrary.org or on our Facebook page events. The programs include:

— Online  Interactive Storytime with Miss Heather: Fridays at 10 a.m. Themes:  Oct. 9,  Letter D Dot Day; Oct. 16, The letter E is Electric;

— Online Writing Club: Meets every Monday at 6:30 p.m. No Writing Club on Columbus Day, Oct. 12;

— Online “Cyber Safety” program*: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 6:30 p.m. Learn how to protect your data and privacy. Facilitator: John Borst. 

*This project is supported by funds from the New York State Library’s Adult Literacy Library Services Program;

— Online “UFO” Unfinished Object Club: Thursday, Oct. 15, 10 a.m.; 

— Online Books & Chocolate Book Club: Tuesday, Oct. 20, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Chat about a book you’ve enjoyed, and share ideas for future reading; and

— Online Writing Workshop: Saturday, Oct. 24, 10 a.m. to noon. Author and university professor Frankie Y. Bailey presents “Avoiding Pitfalls and Delighting Readers.” To sign up, email . This program is part of a series made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
