Schoharie Library Notes for Tuesday, October 4, 2022

The Schoharie Library is open on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.; on Thursday from noon to 7 p.m.; and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Schoharie Library will be closed on Monday, Oct. 10, in observance of Indigenous People’s Day.

— Story time with Miss Yvonne: Fridays at 10 a.m. Stories, songs, fun activities;

— Virtual UFO Club: Thursday, Oct. 6 and 20, 10 a.m. Work on projects and chat. Signup: https://bit.ly/SchoharieLibraryPrograms;

— Tech Savvy Virtual Program: Cybersecurity: Thursday, Oct. 6, 1 to 2 p.m. We will explore our online presence, discuss privacy (including VPNs), and personal security. — Middle Grade book group: October dates TBA. Youth grades 3rd -6th are welcome to join Yvonne to read a chapter book each month. We will cover the different genres, reading the group’s chosen book together. We will meet every two weeks for refreshments and discussion. — Knitcetera at the Library: Tuesday, Oct. 11, 10:30 a.m. and noon. Embroider, sew, knit, anything goes;

— Board of Trustees Meeting: Wednesday, Oct. 12, 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend;

— E-books, audiobooks, and magazines (for free)... Oh My!: Thursday, Oct. 13, 5 p.m. Learn how to acces s these digital format reads using the Libby App available for free from the library! All are welcome to join in person at the library or on Zoom. Sign up at: https://bit.ly/SHOLibby;

— Finding your Way, in the Library! Tuesday, Oct. 18, 5 p.m. Where can you go to find the books you’d like? What's with this online catalog? How can you request books to come to our branch? Come Learn! Bring your own device;

— Feeding the Birds and Cleaning Your Feeders: Thursday, Oct. 20, 6 p.m. Learn about which foods are best for the birds you want to attract, and how to prepare your feeders. Presented by Teresa Parisi-Murphy, Audubon Society of the Capital District;

— Tech Savvy Virtual Program: Living in an Online World:  Tuesday, Oct. 25, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Make informed decisions about the pros and cons of living in an online world. We’ll cover terminology and follow the trends of the internet that brought us to where we are today. Register: https://bit.ly/onlineworld10-25
