Schoharie Library Notes for Thursday, September 27, 2018
Vanessa Repicky holds story time at the Schoharie Free Library on Fridays at 10 a.m. throughout the school year. The theme for Sept. 28 is apples.
Kids of all ages are welcome to join us for stories, music, crafts, and games. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Minecraft Club
On Monday, Oct. 1, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. join us to build worlds and explore with this popular computer game! Please bring your own I-Pad, tablet, laptop, or other gaming device. The club meets on second and fourth Mondays; all ages are welcome.
Crafts
Knit, Crochet & Needlework Club will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Bring a project, start something new, or learn to knit/crochet with this friendly group. Knitting needles, crochet hooks, and yarn are available at the library. The club meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. All ages and abilities are welcome.
Exhibit
The Quilt & Fiber Arts Exhibit: “Continue the Threads” is through Oct. 1. This exhibit is put on by adult students of master quilter Arlene Vrooman to honor her contributions and achievements, and to celebrate her 90th birthday. The public is invited to a birthday tea and reception for Mrs. Vrooman on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 1 to 3 p.m. Admission is free; no gifts, please.
Club meets
The Writing Club meets Monday, Oct. 1 and 15, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. If you like to write, and you want to share and discuss writing with others, this group is for you!
Library closed
The Schoharie Library will be closed on Monday, Oct. 8 in observance of Columbus Day.

On Thursday, Oct. 11, at 6:30 p.m. join us for Real News Matters. Now, more than ever, where we get our news from and understanding how it works is essential. Making apple cider
Let’s Make Apple Cider on Monday, Oct. 15, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Help make apple cider using an old-fashioned, hand cranked cider press and delicious local apples! Then sample the cider along with a yummy cider donut.
