Schoharie Library Notes for Thursday, September 13, 2018
Pete Enders and Jay Bramer will perform at the Schoharie Public Library for Music and Poetry Night on Sept. 13, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
They will open with guitar music and a sing-along, then everyone is invited to jam, sing (solo or with the whole gang), read a poem, or just listen. All ages and abilities are welcome. Refreshments will be served.
Story time
Story time with Vanessa Repicky on Fridays at 10 a.m. throughout the school year. Themes include: Sept. 21, Weather; and Sept.28: Apples. All ages are welcome to join us for stories, music, crafts, and games. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Writing Club
The Writing Club meets Monday, Sept. 17, from 6 from 8:30 p.m. If you like to write, and you want to share & discuss writing with others, this group is for you!
Minecraft Club
On Monday, Sept. 24, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. come build worlds and explore with this popular computer game! Please bring your own I-Pad, tablet, laptop, or other gaming device. The club meets on second and fourth Mondays; all ages are welcome.
Craft club
Knit, Crochet & Needlework Club will meet Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Bring a project, start something new, or learn to knit/crochet with this friendly group. Knitting needles, crochet hooks, and yarn are available at the library. The club meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. All ages and abilities are welcome.
Exhibit
There will be a Quilt & Fiber Arts Exhibit: “Continue the Threads” from Sept. 25 to Oct. 1. This exhibit is put on by adult students of master quilter Arlene Vrooman to honor her contributions and achievements, and to celebrate her 90th birthday. The public is invited to a birthday tea and reception for Mrs. Vrooman on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 1 to 3 p.m. Admission is free; no gifts, please.
