Schoharie Library Notes for Thursday, July 16, 2020

The Schoharie Library now has book pick-up at the ramp door!

Our hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.,Thursday from noon to 7 p.m., and  Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2.pm.

The public may not come inside the library yet. Patrons may request books through the online catalog: pac.sals.edu, e-mail: , or phone: 518-295-7127. A pickup date and time will be set; items will be placed in the entryway at the ramp door for pickup. Please bring a photo ID to show through the window.

The Schoharie Library is accepting  returns in our book drop, with no late fees at this time. 

We are also accepting donations; contact us to set up a drop-off time. Donated books are available on the front porch.

Summer Reading Program 

Summer reading program for all ages has started! Online signup is at https://schoharielibny05.readsquared.com/. This includes access to a reading log, badges, mini-games, activity ideas, and book lists. Paper signup sheets and reading logs are available at the library in the ramp door entryway. All who sign up receive a fairy journal and pen and Stewart’s ice cream coupon!

Imagine Their Homes

Come build a fairy/gnome house at the Schoharie Library, the Lily Park, Fox Creek Park, Landis Arboretum, or the Schoharie River Center! The Mohawk Valley Library System and member libraries are sponsoring a fun summer program, “Fairies and Gnomes - Imagine Their Homes.” You can even pick up a “take and make” kit to create a flower fairy doll (while supplies last, signup in Summer Reading post on our FB page). Art Show

Clothesline Art Show on the Library Lawn on Tuesday, July 28, 1 to 5 p.m. Kids can drop off their artwork ahead of time, we’ll hang it on clotheslines, and people can come see (staying at least 6 ft. apart and wearing masks, of course!) Sign up on the library website/facebook page or email .

Schoharie Library Online Programs

 Check our Facebook Events for online activities. To sign up to receive a link for online programs, contact or click the link to the sign-up sheet on our website, www.schoharielibrary.org or on our Facebook page. Activities include:

— Online Writing Club: Meets every Monday at 6 p.m. Great chance to share and discuss your work with other writers;

— Online Knitcetera Club: Tuesday, July 21, at 10:30 a.m. Work on knitting, crocheting, quilting, and embroidery projects, catch up with friends, enjoy some connection;

— Online Make-it-up Storytime: Thursday, July 23, at 10 a.m. Kids help decide where the story goes;

— Online Book Discussion: Wednesday, July 29, at 7 p.m. “How to Be an Antiracist” by Ibram X. Kendi. Part one of a series. Signup form is on the website and Facebook event. Contact the library to reserve a book;

— Online “UFO” Unfinished Object Club, Thursday, July 30, at 10 a.m. It's always easier to work on a project when you've got company! Maybe we'll even finish something; and

— Online Storytime with Miss Heather will resume in the fall. Check our Facebook page over the next few weeks for updates on special summer storytelling!
