Online Programs
While we look forward to offering in-person programs again soon, this week’s programs will still be conducted online via Zoom. Here’s what we have scheduled:
— Join Miss Heather at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 21 for a special interactive storytime. This week it’s a storytime pajama party with bedtime stories in the morning;
— Our Writing Club will have its next meeting online at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 24. The next meeting of the Young Adult Advisory Council is also scheduled for Monday, May 24, with a starting time of 7 p.m;
— At 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, our Knitcetera Club will meet again, resuming their crafts and conversations. Newcomers are welcome;
— Later that night, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, Library Director Don LaPlant will offer an online introduction to the Goodreads App, a handy tool for keeping track of what you’ve read and what you want to read. Learn how to set up the app, add items to your lists, and find recommendations from other users;
— Kids can learn about a unique Australian instrument, the didgeridoo, from Miss Sally at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, then craft their own model and decorate it. Take-and-make kits can be picked up from the library before the session; and
— At 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, attend a Digital Design workshop online. Guest presenter Aneesa Hussain will teach attendees how to create brochures, cards, and flyers with Canva, Word, and other applications. This event is supported by funds from the New York State Library’s Adult Literacy Library Services Program.
