Schoharie Library Notes for Thursday, April 18, 2019

Join us at the Schoharie Library on Thursday, April 18, at 6:30 p.m. for PJ’s & Popcorn Movie Night. We’ll show Disney’s “Rise of the Guardians” in which Easter Bunny, Santa, and Jack Frost team up to defeat the Boogeyman!

Storytime

Storytime with Erika Schmid: Fridays at 10 a.m. The on April 19 is Easter is Coming. There will be no story time on April 26 because of spring break.

All ages are welcome to join us for stories, music, crafts, and games. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Easter Egg Museum

The Easter Egg Museum on Covered Bridge Lane, in Schoharie will be open April 19 to 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and April 21,  from noon to 5 p.m. to benefit the Schoharie Library. Come see the spectacular array of egg art!

Knitcetera Club

On Tuesdays,April 23, from 10:30 a.m. to noon knit, crochet, embroider, bring a project, start something new, learn with our stash!

Writing Webinar

On Tuesday, April 23, at 3 p.m., learn the “10 Mistakes Writers Make” sponsored by Sisters in Crime.

Read with Ariel

On Friday, April 26, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. join us for reading to a therapy dog. It is a great way for kids to gain confidence and have fun with books! All are welcome to drop by the library and spend some time with Ariel and a good book.

Writing Club

On Monday, April 29, from  6 to 8:30 p.m. writers of all ages are welcome! Bring your fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or any other type of writing to share, discuss, and critique.

Book discussion

Come discuss “The Summer Girl” with local author Kathy Brown on Tuesday, April 30, at 3:30 p.m. What mysteries linger in the old hotels around a small spa town in upstate New York? Follow the adventures of a Jewish girl from Brooklyn and a local girl as they investigate. Learn more about the background of Sharon Springs hotels and the Orthodox Jewish families who vacationed in this area. This event is part of Children’s Book Week!

Contra Dance

Contra Dance with Paul Rosenberg & Tamarack on Thursday, May 2, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Kick up your heels to the lively music of Tamarack! Caller Paul Rosenberg will teach all dances, no experience necessary. This is free and fun for all ages and abilities! Dessert will be served. This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Greene County Council on the Arts.
