Schoharie Library Notes for Thursday, April 16, 2020

The Schoharie Library is closed, consistent with the Schoharie school closure, until further notice. Please check the library’s website and Facebook page for updates.

Wifi is available outside the building and in the parking lot.

The book drop is closed — please hang onto your books till we reopen. No late fees will be charged as long as books are returned within two weeks of the library’s reopening.

Books on the Porch

Books from our shed are now available on the front porch of the library. Please practice “social distancing,” and hang onto whichever books you choose (no need to return them). A note of caution — please don’t add to the books on the porch — we’ll accept donations again when the library is open. Thanks!

Activities online

Although our in-person activities are canceled/postponed, we’re holding Writing Club, Knitcetera Club, Books & Chocolate, Story Time, and other activities online! Check our Facebook Events for more information and updates. To sign up to receive a link for online programs, contact or click the link to our sign-up sheet on Facebook. Here’s what we have scheduled so far:

— Mondays, April 20 and 27, 6 p.m.: Online Writing Club;

— Fridays at 10 a.m.: Online Story Time with Miss Heather. Interactive stories, songs, and activities! Have paper AND crayons ready;

— Wednesday, April 15, 7 p.m.: Online Books AND Chocolate Book Chat. Join us in cyberspace to talk about books you’ve enjoyed and share ideas for future reading! You’ll have to provide your own chocolate for now — maybe we can share recipes, too; and

— Tuesday, April 28, 10:30 a.m.: Online Knitcetera Club. Share knitting, crocheting, quilting, and embroidery projects, catch up with friends, enjoy some connection!
