Schoharie Library Notes for Thursday, April 9, 2020

The Schoharie Library is closed, consistent with the Schoharie school closure, until further notice. Please check the library’s website and Facebook page for updates. E-books, audio books, and e-magazines are available through Libby, Overdrive, and other links on the Schoharie Library and MVLS websites: https://schoharielibrary.org/ and https://www.mvls.info/

If you don't have a library card, you can get an instant library card for borrowing e-books, etc. at https://mvls.overdrive.com/ or in the Libby app at https://meet.libbyapp.com/

The Schoharie Library website has a page of resources which is frequently updated: https://schoharie.mvls.info/resources-during-covid19/

Wifi is available outside the building and in the parking lot.

The book drop is closed — please hang onto your books till we reopen. No late fees will be charged as long as books are returned within two weeks of the library’s reopening.

Books on the Porch

Books from our shed are now available on the front porch of the library. Please practice “social distancing,” and hang onto whichever books you choose (no need to return them). A note of caution — please don't add to the books on the porch. We’ll accept donations again when the library is open. Thanks!

Egg hunt and more

Come check out the big decorated Easter eggs at the library — ready for the “Socially Distant Easter Egg Hunt!”

 Although our in-person activities are canceled or postponed, we’re holding Writing Club, Knitcetera Club, Books & Chocolate, Story Time, and other activities online! Check our Facebook Events for more information, updates, and signup forms so you can receive the links to participate. You may also receive the links by emailing . Here’s what we have scheduled so far:

— Online Writing Club: Mondays, April 6 and 20, at 6 p.m.,

— Online Play with Zoom: Wednesday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m. Zoom is great for connecting and collaborating, whether it’s for work, keeping in touch with friends and family, or just fun with kids of any age! Learn to host a meeting, create virtual backgrounds, share your screen, use a whiteboard, etc. We can even draw a picture together, or share some photos of what's coming up in the yard;

— Online Story Time with Miss Heather: Fridays at 10 a.m. Please make sure you have paper and crayons and a maraca or “shaker” noise-maker, like a plastic container with some rice, a bowl of bottle caps, etc., and that you have room to move! This is a fun, interactive program. You can get the link by signing up in the Facebook event Google form, sending Jennie an email (above), or PM the Schoharie Library Facebook page;

— Online Knitcetera Club: Tuesdays, April 14 and 28 at 10:30 a.m. Share knitting, crocheting, quilting, and embroidery projects, catch up with friends, enjoy some connection!
