Schoharie Library Notes for Thursday, March 28, 2019

The Schoharie Library holds story time with Erika Schmid on Fridays at 10 a,m. Upcoming themes are: March 29, Planet Earth; April 5, Egg-cellent Eggs; April 12, Chirping Chicks; and April 19, Easter is Coming. There is no story time on April 26.

All ages are welcome to join us for stories, music, crafts, and games. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Writing Club

On Monday, April 1, from  6 to 8:30 p.m. writers of all ages are welcome! Bring your fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or any other type of writing to share, discuss, and critique.

Storytime

Evening "Egg Tree" Storytime is on Thursday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m. Put on some cozy jammies and listen to the story that inspired the Easter Egg Museum! Refreshments will be served.

Museum

The Easter Egg Museum on Covered Bridge Lane, Schoharie will be open April 5 to 7, 12 to 14 and 19 to 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and April 21, noon to 5 p.m. to benefit the Schoharie Library. Come see the spectacular array of egg art!

Workshops

Embroidery & Embellishment Workshops with Betty Fikes Pillsbury on Saturdays, April 6 and May 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Come to either or both of these fun, free events and learn how to use various stitches, beads, etc. to jazz up your quilts, clothing, or accessories. 18th Century Medicine

On Monday, April 8, at 6:30 p.m. imagine dealing with illness, broken bones, and surgery without antibiotics, x-rays, lasers, or most modern painkillers or sterile techniques! Dave Goodrich brings alive the challenges and ingenuity of medicine in Colonial America.

Knitcetera Club

On Tuesdays,April 9 and 23, from 10:30 a.m. to noon bring a project, start something new, learn with materials from the library! All are welcome.

Eggs

From Egg to Chick on Thursday, April 11, at 6:30 p.m. An egg looks so smooth and still...but what's really happening on the inside? Learn all about it with Schoharie County Cornell Cooperative Extension. And right now, the Schoharie Library has an incubator full of eggs, so come check it out!

Read with Ariel

On Friday, April 12, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. join us for reading to a therapy dog. It is a great way for kids to gain confidence and have fun with books!

Easter Eggs

The Art of Ukrainian Easter Eggs on Saturday, April 13, from 10:30 a.m. See how a plain egg can be transformed into an intricate work of art using wax, dye, and flame! Laura Boggs Gagnon will demonstrate the centuries-old tradition of pysanky. All ages are welcome.

Computer Coding Club
