Schoharie Library Notes for Thursday, January 31, 2019

Vanessa Repicky leads a story time at the Schoharie Library every Friday at 10 a.m. On Feb. 1, the topic will be groundhogs and shadows; on Feb. 8, Valentine’s Day; Feb. 15, shapes and patterns.

All ages are welcome to join us for stories, music, crafts, and games. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Read to a dog

Read with Ariel on Friday, Feb. 1 and 8, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Ariel is a sweet therapy dog who loves to have children read to her; everyone is invited to spend time with her.

Writing Club

On Monday, Feb. 4, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. writers of all ages are welcome! Bring your fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or any other type of writing to share, discuss, and critique.

Gracie

Read with Gracie on Thursdays, Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28, from  3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Gracie loves a good story, especially when a young friend reads to her. She’s a friendly goldendoodle therapy dog, and all are welcome to stop in and visit her.

Knitcetera Club

Tuesdays, February 12 and 28, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Bring a yarn, quilting, or embroidery project, start something new, or learn to knit/crochet with this friendly group. Knitting needles, crochet hooks, yarn, and fabric are available at the library. The club meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Valentine Crafts

On Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. make a Valentine for someone special. Refreshments will be served.

Book Pre-launch Party

On Saturday, Feb. 16, from noon to 1 p.m. we’re celebrating the release of the spy/mystery thriller Parabellum, written by local author John Mullins, aka Jack Nanuq. This is a great chance to talk with the author and get your book signed! Refreshments will be served.
