The Schoharie Free Library is offering a course called Social Media Marketing 101 on Thursday, Jan. 10, 6 p.m. Presenter Sarah McFadden, from the Rensselaer County Cornell Cooperative Extension, will teach you how to promote your book, business, organization, events, or products using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more!
Storytime
Storytime with Vanessa Repicky is on Fridays at 10 a.m. The themes for January are: Jan. 11, The Mitten; Jan. 18, Shark Week; Jan. 25, Dogs and the Jobs They Do with special canine guest Ariel. All ages are welcome to join us for stories, music, crafts, and games. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Read to a dog
Read with Ariel on Friday, Jan. 18, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Ariel is a sweet therapy dog who loves to have children read to her; everyone is invited to spend time with her.
Maple syrup info
Backyard Maple Syrup on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 10:30 a.m. Have you ever wondered how maple syrup is made? Tapping trees and boiling sap are a great way to beat the late winter blahs — learn about this fun hobby from backyard boilers Bob and Alyson Montione. Maple refreshments will be provided.
Crafts
Knit, Crochet & Needlework Club on Tuesday, Jan. 22 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Bring a project, start something new, or learn to knit/crochet with this friendly group. Knitting needles, crochet hooks, and yarn are available at the library. The club meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. All ages and abilities are welcome.
Read with Gracie
On Thursday, Jan. 24 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. read with Gracie. She loves a good story, especially when a young friend reads to her. She’s a friendly goldendoodle therapy dog, and all are welcome to stop in and visit her.
Movie
Join us for Pizza and a Movie. We will be showing “ A Wrinkle in Time” on Monday, Jan. 28, at 6 p.m. This great movie is an exciting new take on the classic book. Reminders
Minecraft Club will be on break for the winter, and will meet again in March.
The Schoharie Library will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
