Middleburgh Library Notes for Wednesday, December 1, 2021
The Middleburgh Library Annual Basket Raffle is all set to go. Stop in and get your tickets. We have over 20 great baskets to choose from. The drawing is on Dec. 21. Stop in and take a look.
Storytime
On Dec. 7 at 10:45 a.m. in person, indoor preschool storytimes are back! This week is all about farms and farm animals. You'll enjoy an interactive, theme-based, multi-age storytime with an emphasis on early literacy that will include a short film and a take home craft or coloring sheet with your little one. Masks are required inside the library regardless of vaccination status for anyone over the age of 2. Registration is required.
Mahjong
On Dec. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. join us for Mahjong in our Community Room. Mahjong or mah-jongg is a tile-based game that was developed in the 19th century in China and has spread throughout the world since the early 20th Century. Come join our friendly group of players for a fun afternoon of conversation and Mahjong. Never played? Not a problem! They are happy to teach you. Meet in the Community Room. No registration required.
Book Discussion
On Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. "A Girl Is A Body Of Water" by Jennier Makunbi will be discussed. International award–winning author Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi’s novel is a sweeping and powerful portrait of a young girl and her family: who they are, what history has taken from them, and―most importantly―how they find their way back to each other.
Miracle at the Museum
On Dec. 10 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. join us in Middleburgh for Miracle on Main Street!
The Dr. Best Museum & Middleburgh Library are announcing our "Tree" Decorating Contest. Pick up your tree from the library during regular library hours, decorate it with anything your imagination can think of, and return it to the library by Dec. 8. All trees will be displayed inside the Carriage House during Miracle. Age categories: 5 and under, 6-9, 10-12. Prizes will be announced soon.
Warm apple crisp and hot cocoa will be served (by donation). You'll be able to vote for your favorite tree.
Miracle on Main Street
On Dec. 10 the library will be open. We do not have any programs this year, but stop in and see our Annual Basket Raffle and take a chance.
Please check our calendar on our website at www.middleburghlibrary.info for future programs. Also, don’t forget our Facebook page.
Masks are now required for everyone coming into the library. Vaccinated or Unvaccinated. Thank you.
