Middleburgh Library Notes for Thursday, November 29, 2018
The Middleburgh Library is having its yearly Basket Raffle with 33 baskets to choose from. Tickets are one dollar each or six for five dollars. The drawing is on Dec. 7 at Miracle on Main Street.
Teens can drop into the Middleburg Library on Monday, Dec. 3, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for snacks and gaming. We’ll have games like King of Tokyo, Castle Panic, Sapien, Boss Monster, Forbidden Island, and Evolution.
Drop in for a half hour or stay the whole time! This program is for kids 13 and up. Registration is suggested but not required. Call, stop in, or sign up online.
Storytime
On Dec. 4, join us for Drop-In Storytime. Get ready to move in this interactive storytime designed especially for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers. We'll read books, sing songs, recite fingerplays, dance and watch a short movie based on a weekly theme. No registration required.
Mahjong Mania
On Dec. 4 at 1 p.m., a spirited group of people will get together in the Middleburgh Library Community Room to play Mahjong. Don't know how to play? No problem! They will teach you how. No registration is required.
Insight Meditation
On Dec. 4, at 5:15 p.m. join us for Insight Meditation. What do you want most deeply? Seeing your life calmly and clearly helps answer this. Insight Meditation is a simple way to steady your mind, stop wandering in daydreams, and end the suffering of troubling thoughts. Our group is a place to sit quietly in safety, supported by others; to allow understanding and compassion to arise; to encourage loving-kindness and patience. We welcome those with no experience to advanced mediators', teens to seniors so give it a try. No registration is required. There is no fee. All are welcome.
Movie
Join us on Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. for the Wednesday matinee with free popcorn. The movie is to be determined.
Yoga
On Dec. 5, from 5 to 6 p.m. join us for Yoga Classes with Deb - Yoga Dance - Move. Come groove and shake up your body for better health. Plus Qi Gong cool down. By donation, donations go to the library. Please use back entrance as the library is closed that evening.
HEGS
On Dev. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. join Home Educators of Schoharie County a group of homeschooling families with a wide variety of backgrounds, approaches to education, and religious affiliations. We exist to provide secular support for homeschooling families, offer information about homeschooling, and to allow for the sharing of educational opportunities.We hope to increase public awareness, acceptance, and support of home education in Schoharie County. Please check out our facebook page. Or contact Rebecca at for more information. We will meet the first and third Friday of each month.
Holiday fun
Join us in the carriage house from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. for hot cocoa, storytelling and crafts. Miracle on Main Street - The Elves Toy Shop - At the Dr. Best House
There is also Miracle on Main Street - At the library from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 7. Please note there is a new hats and mittens collection for kids. Activities also include:

— 6 p.m. Caroling with Girl Scouts;
— 6 p.m. Santa arrives at the library;
— 6:15 p.m. Middleburgh Ecumenical Bell Choir; and
— 6:45 p.m. Fiddling Friar and Anna's Animal Puppets.
