Middleburgh Library Notes for Tuesday, October 25, 2022

The 5 x 5 Art At The Library is the first annual fundraising exhibit to benefit programming at the Middleburgh Library.

The show and sale is open to all artists, creatives, makers, and crafters. The library is seeking small artwork donations in any media. Artwork may be dropped off from Nov.1 to Dec. 3. 

The opening reception will be on Friday, Dec. 9, during “Miracle on Main Street.” Enter by filling out the form here: https://www.middleburghlibrary.info/5x5-art-fundraiser and returning it with your creative art piece. On Oct. 31 the library will open at 4 p.m.

Storytime

On Nov. 1 at 10:45 a.m. join Miss Terry for this fun, interactive drop-in storytime geared toward little ones ages 0-5 and their caregivers! We'll read books, sing songs and watch a short film based on our weekly theme. All children will go home with a coloring sheet or take home craft. No registration required

Mahjong

On Nov. 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. Mahjong is back at the Middleburgh Library. Come and join the group. If you don't know how to play and want to learn, the group will help you.

Homeschool Science  Club

  On Nov.3 from 11 a.m. to noon the Homeschool Science Club will meet every other Thursday and go over our science fair projects, research, help each other and of course, do a cool experiment! This program is for homeschooled students ages 6 and up. Registration is required for each week, so we have enough materials.

Craft workshop

    On Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. join us for  Embellished and Embroidered Clothing Workshop with Textile Artist Betty Pillsbury.

Learn to create a motif to adorn a favorite Jean jacket or denim (or similar) shirt. Betty Pillsbury will teach you embroidery basics in this hands on workshop at the Middleburgh Library. You will learn chain stitch, woven rose, French knot, lazy daisy and Japanese ribbon stitch in silk ribbon.. Please bring your clothing item with you.  Other materials will be provided.  Registration is required.
