Virtual Insight Meditation
On Sept. 8 at 5:15 p.m. our popular Insight Meditation group is meeting virtually!
What do you want most deeply? Seeing your life calmly and clearly helps answer this. Insight Meditation is a simple way to steady your mind, stop wandering in day-dreams, and end the suffering of troubling thoughts. Our group is a place to sit quietly in safety, supported by others; to allow understanding and compassion to arise; to encourage loving-kindness and patience.
We welcome those with no experience to advanced mediators', teens to seniors. We will be using the Zoom platform for our meetings for the time being. Book Discussion
On Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. join us for a discussion of “American Dirt" by Jeanine Cummins (Outside and online). Our monthly book discussion is being done a little differently! We will meet outside the library on the back porch for a socially distant chat about the book American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins - masks are required. If you prefer, you may join us on Zoom by registering above.
After you register, you will be given the join link. Simply put that link into your browser on your laptop, computer, tablet or phone and join in the discussion. Order your copy of the book online or call us at 518-827-5142 to request a copy. You only need to register if you are joining us on zoom.
“American Dirt” will leave readers utterly changed when they finish reading it. The publisher describes it as a page-turner filled with poignancy, drama, and humanity on every page, it is a literary achievement. This is a holdover from August, as the books did not arrive in time.
