Join us on July 25 at 5:30 p.m. for a session called DIY Cleaner and Greener Living. Adults will learn to make cleaning and household products from everyday items that do less harm to our planet and to us
We’ll talk, look at some recipes, make one to take home, and test one out. Registration is required. This program, part of our Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program, is for adults 18 and older.
Summer Reading
On July 26 at 10:45 a.m. come to the library and enjoy Summer Reading Drop-in Storytime - Pirate Ship Roundup - Ahoy there Matey! Come decorate your pirate ship and hop in while Miss. Terry reads some rip-roaring books about pirates and boats! There will be lots of fun in this pirate-themed storytime! Registration is required. For parents and caregivers and little ones ages 1 - 5. This program is part of our Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program.
Then on July 26 at 1 p.m. join us for Summer Reading Family Matinee - "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl{ (PG-13) - When it's hot outside, come in and watch a fun afternoon film with your family! Captain Jack Sparrow's idyllic pirate life capsizes after his nemesis, wily Captain Barbossa, steals his ship--the Black Pearl--attacks the town of Port Royal and kidnaps the governor's daughter, Elizabeth. In a gallant attempt to rescue her and recapture the Black Pearl, Elizabeth's childhood friend Will joins forces with Jack. What Will doesn't know is that a cursed treasure has doomed Barbossa and his crew to live forever as the undead. Free popcorn! No registration required. This program is part of our Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program.
Mahjong
On July 26 from 1 to 4 p.m. Mahjong is back at the Middleburgh Library. Come and join the group. If you don't know how to play and want to learn, the group will help you. Mahjong has moved back to Tuesdays.
More Summer Reading Fun
On July 27 at 1 p.m. Summer Reading "Building Bonanza Legos and More - Bring your imagination and your engineering skills for this 90 minute building bonanza afternoon! You'll have Legos, Magnatiles, Keva Planks and the QB Maze to work with and some fun challenges to keep it interesting. Registration is required. For kids going into 2nd grade and up. This program is part of our Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program.
On July 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. Summer Reading Teen Castaways - "Building a Hurricane - Come hang out in the Teen Room! Design and make a tower as tall as possible that will withstand hurricane winds, rain, and maybe even an earthquake! Registration is required. For kids ages 12 through 12th grade. This program is part of our Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program.
Also on July 28 at 1 p.m. Summer Reading - "Hello Puddles!" Author visit with Anita Sanchez - Local author, Anita Sanchez, will read from her glorious new nonfiction picture book Hello Puddle! She'll bring along some of the creatures that can be found in a puddle and we'll get to learn about their life in the tiniest body of water. Registration is required. For kids going into Kindergarten to third grade. This event is part of our Summer Learning Program: Oceans of Possibilities.
Then on July 29 at 6:30 p.m. Summer Reading Teen Friday Night Madness - Come hang out with us at the library, after hours. We'll be playing a crazy game of hide and seek and playing a game of life-sized Clue! We'll have snacks, drinks, and loads of silly fun! Registration is required. This program is part of our Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program.
Concert
On July 31 at 4 p.m. the Not So Quiet Concert Series with David Roth. David Roth strikes many chords, hearts, and minds with his unique songs, offbeat observations, moving stories, sense of the hilarious, and powerful singing and subject matter. As singer, songwriter, recording artist, keynote speaker, workshop leader, and instructor, David has earned top honors at premier songwriter competitions – Kerrville (TX) and Falcon Ridge (NY) – and taken his music, experience, and expertise to a wide variety of venues in this and other countries full-time for three decades.
