On July 16 at 1 p.m. come and enjoy Mahjong Mania. Every Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m. a spirited group of people get together in the Community Room to play Mahjong. Don't know how to play? No problem! They will teach you how. No registration required.
Storytime
On July 17 at 1045 a.m. join us for Libraries Rock! Drop-in Storytime. Get ready to move in this interactive storytime designed especially for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers. We'll read books, sing songs, recite fingerplays, dance and watch a short movie based on a weekly theme. No registration required.
Immersion Camp
On July 17, 18, and 19 at 4 p.m. join us for Libraries Rock! Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone Immersion Camp. We are partnering with Signum University to offer our first fantasy immersion camp as we read and study Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J. K. Rowling. If you've already read the book — great. If you haven't grab yourself a copy! You'll read the book at home and participant in interactive discussions about what you've read online with professors from the University. We'll meet three times a week and talk about the book and participate in some fun, creative activities. This will be a great way to delve deeper into one of our favorite fantasy novels. This program is part of our Libraries Rock! Summer Reading Program and is for kids going into grade 5 through 8. Registration is required.
Insight Meditation
On July 17 at 5:15 p.m. join us for Insight Meditation. What do you want most deeply? Seeing your life calmly and clearly helps answer this. Insight Meditation is a simple way to steady your mind, stop wandering in day-dreams, and end the suffering of troubling thoughts. Our group is a place to sit quietly in safety, supported by others; to allow understanding and compassion to arise; to encourage loving-kindness and patience. We welcome those with no experience to advanced mediators', teens to seniors. give it a try. No registration is required. There is no fee. All are welcome.
Book discussion
Onj July 17, at 7 p.m. come discuss "All These Wonders" True Stories About Facing the Unknown presented by The Moth.This is a 2017 collection of stories from the radio program “The Moth,” edited by the show's artistic director Catherine Burns on the 20th anniversary of the show's 1997 founding.
Libraries Rock
On July 16 at 7 p.m. enjoy Libraries Rock! Nature Tunes & Tales with George Steele at the library. Gather around a campfire circle out in back of the library for this group participatory, theater-in-the-round session of songs, stories and activities that will have you singing, moving and laughing as you learn about plants, animals and the environment that we all depend on. Please bring blankets to sit on. This event is part of our Libraries Rock! Summer Reading Program and is appropriate for all ages. Registration is required.
On July 18, at 11 a.m. join us for Storytime Cooking Tacos. Join Miss Doreen and Miss Rebecca as we have a fun storytime filled with stories, singing, dancing, and cooking! We'll be reading lots of fun books and making delicious tacos!
This program is part of our summer reading program and is for kids going into preschool to first grade. Registration is required.
Then at 1 p.m. as part of Libraries Rock join us for Juggling 101. Tim Tilstra, the cup stacking guy, is back with an introduction to juggling. He will go over the basics of juggling with one, then two and ultimately three objects. Are you up for the challenge? This program is part of our Libraries Rock! Summer Reading program and is for kids going into second grade and up. Registration is required.
On July 18 enjoy Teem Maker Wednesday with us. Create, Make, and Explore at Makerspace in the Village. Join us in the tech room every Wednesday through Aug. 15 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Take note there will be NO Makerspace held on August 8.

Libraries Rock continue on July 19 at 2 p.m. with Super Taco Bar. Join us as we prepare a super taco bar! You will dice, tear, slice, cut, mix and shake things up as we prepare a taco bar and then eat up our hard work! This program is for kids going into second through fifth grade. Registration is required.
On July 19, at 5:30 Libraries Rock continues with Teen Interactive Movie Night. We will be showing "Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone". You may have seen the movie Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone before, but you've never seen it quite like this--with props and prompts to let you interact with the story along with the rest of the audience! All supplies will be provided. Costumes, wands, and wizarding attire encouraged! Pizza and drinks will be served before the movie starts. This program is for kids going into sixth grade and up. Registration is required.
Finally on July 21 at 11:30 a.m. we will have a showing of the family film "E.T." Beat the heat and join us for "E.T". We will provide drinks and snacks. Bring your lunch if you'd like and relax and enjoy this favorite family movie!
Knitting Circle
On July 19 at 7 p.m. the friendly ladies (men are welcome, but we haven't seen any yet!) knit and crochet, embroider and quilt, and more. You can learn a new skill here or share your own special talents with others- or just craft in the company of friends. Drop in anytime! No registration is required.
