Middleburgh Library Notes for Thursday, May 31, 2018
Every Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m., including on June 5, a spirited group of people get together in the Community Room to play Mahjong. Don't know how to play? No problem! They will teach you how. No registration is required.
Insight Meditation
Join us on June 5 at 5:15 p.m. for Insight Meditation.
What do you want most deeply? Seeing your life calmly and clearly helps answer this.
Insight Meditation is a simple way to steady your mind, stop wandering in daydreams, and end the suffering of troubling thoughts.
Our group is a place to sit quietly in safety, supported by others; to allow understanding and compassion to arise; to encourage loving-kindness and patience.
We welcome those with no experience to advanced mediators, teens to seniors. Give it a try. No registration is required. There is no fee. All are welcome.
Knitting Circle
Friendly ladies (men are welcome, but we haven’t seen any yet!) knit and crochet, embroider and quilt, and more on Thursdays at the library. Come on June 7 at 7 p.m.
You can learn a new skill here or share your own special talents with others — or just craft in the company of friends. Drop in anytime! No registration is required.
Flower Fairy Tea
On June 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. join us for the Mother/Daughter Flower Fairy Tea. Victorian children believed the Fairy Realm held its annual merriment and mischief in June on Midsummer's Eve. Join us for a special celebration of the fairy magic in our first ever Mother/Daughter Flower Fairy Tea. After tea, look for signs of fairy revelry in a scavenger hunt around the lawn, play with bubbles, and have a tour of the house if you like. Fairy wings and elves, often in the guise of boys, are also welcome!
The menu includes tea and juice, assorted muffins and scones, finger sandwiches, quiche, salad, fruit fairy wands and cookies.
When you purchase tickets, please purchase only for the guests sitting at your table. There are only eight tables available for each seating. Thank you! This program is at the Dr. Best House & Medical Exhibit, 1568 Clauverwie, Middleburgh.
