On Monday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m. the board of trustees will meet. All are welcome.

For drop-in story time on March 13 at 10:45 a.m., get ready to move. This interactive story time is designed especially for children from infants up to age 5, and their caregivers. We’ll read books, sing songs, recite fingerplays, dance and watch a short movie based on a weekly theme. No registration required.
Mahjong Mania
Every Tuesday afternoon at 1 p.m., including on March 13, a spirited group of people get together in the Community Room to play Mahjong. Don’t know how to play? No problem! They will teach you how. No registration is required.
Insight Meditation
Join us on March 13 at 5:15 p.m. for Insight Meditation.
What do you want most deeply? Seeing your life calmly and clearly helps answer this.
Insight Meditation is a simple way to steady your mind, stop wandering in daydreams, and end the suffering of troubling thoughts. Our group is a place to sit quietly in safety, supported by others; to allow understanding and compassion to arise; to encourage loving-kindness and patience.
We welcome those with no experience to advanced mediators, teens to seniors. Give it a try. No registration is required. There is no fee. All are welcome.
Wednesday Matinee
On March 14 at 1 p.m., watch "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" (R).
After months have passed without a culprit in her daughter's murder case, Mildred Hayes makes a bold move, painting three signs leading into her town with a controversial message directed at William Willoughby, the town's revered chief of police.
Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York
On Thursday, March 15 at 1 p.m. join us for Closing the Gap with the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York. Closing the Gap is a free program seeking to address the access to justice gap in rural areas. Through the use of technology, attorneys in urban areas like Albany and NYC, volunteer their time to assist low-income people in underserved areas facing consumer debt judgments and housing evictions. This presentation will describe the types of issues that Closing the Gap addresses such as: small claim suits, medical debts, credit card debts, car repossessions, etc. Attendees will learn how they can contact Legal Aid for their civil legal needs and how to navigate courts as a “pro se” defendants with the assistance of Closing the Gap. Registration is suggested but not required.
Knitting Circle
On March 15, at 7 p.m., friendly ladies (men are welcome, but we haven't seen any yet!) will knit and crochet, embroider and quilt, and more. You can learn a new skill here or share your own special talents with others- or just craft in the company of friends.
Drop in anytime! No registration is required.
HEGS
On Friday, March 16 from 10 a.m. to noon Home Educators of Schoharie County will meet. HEGS is a group of homeschooling families with a wide variety of backgrounds, approaches to education, and religious affiliations. We exist to provide secular support for homeschooling families, offer information about homeschooling, and to allow for sharing of educational opportunities. We hope to increase public awareness, acceptance, and support of home education in Schoharie County.
Vegan cooking
On March 17 at 2 p.m., “Vegan Brunch” will be the topic of the monthly book club, “Cooking by the Vegan Book.” We pick the cookbook, you pick and make the recipe!
How the cookbook club works: Every month, a cookbook will be selected and will be at the circulation desk for you to look at and we will print up the recipe of your choice. Sign up online or at the circulation desk; let us know what you’re cooking so we don’t have duplicates. Registration is required.
Concert
On Saturday, March 18 at 4 p.m. join us and enjoy Mike Agranoff. He is a master of the little-known English Concertina, applying it anywhere from a haunting and poignant song accompaniment to an unexpected virtuoso transcription of a Bach concerto. A performance might include a song of heart-stopping emotional impact, a Scott Joplin piano rag, an acapella Irish patter song sung to the melody of a mile-a-minute fiddle tune, a riveting recitation in the style of Robert Service, and some of the most horrible parodies ever perpetrated on an unsuspecting audience.
