Middleburgh Library Notes for Wednesday, February 26, 2020
On March 3, the Middleburgh Library will hold its drop-in story time at 10:45 a.m.
This fun and interactive program is meant for children up to age 5 and their caregivers, although older siblings are always welcome! We read books, sing songs, play games, dance, and watch a short movie based on a weekly theme. No registration is required.
Mahjong Mania
On March 3 at 1 p.m. join a spirited group of people get together in the Community Room to play Mahjong. Don't know how to play? No problem! They will teach you how. No registration required.
Qi Dong
On March 3 from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. come to the library for Qi Gong a Chinese healing practice, incorporating breath and gentle movement to create a free flow of energy throughout the body. Wear loose clothing.
Insight Meditation
On March 3 at 5:15 p.m. join us for Insight Meditation. What do you want most deeply? Seeing your life calmly and clearly helps answer this. Insight Meditation is a simple way to steady your mind, stop wandering in day-dreams, and end the suffering of troubling thoughts. Our group is a place to sit quietly in safety, supported by others; to allow understanding and compassion to arise; to encourage loving-kindness and patience. We welcome those with no experience to advanced mediators', teens to seniors. give it a try. No registration is required. There is no fee. All are welcome.
Storytime with Miss Doreen
On March 4 at 11 a.m. join Miss Doreen for this fun filled storytime for kids 2 to 5 and their caregivers. The theme is Hats off to Dr. Seuss.
Adult Digital Literacy Program
On March 5 at 7 p.m. join us for Tech Savvy Adult Digital Literacy Program - Social Media Marketing. Learn how to use social media to promote a business, organization, products, events, art, and more. Facilitator: Mohamed Baligh
Registration is required. This program is supported by funds from the New York State Library's Adult Literacy Library Services Program.
Climate Change Discussion
On March 7 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Peter Savio, a resident of Gallupville, a former NYSERDA team leader, and energy analyst with Cornell Cooperative Extension, and a small business owner, will moderate a scientifically grounded, action oriented discussion on climate change. This program will cover a wide range of strategies to reduce emissions in order to contain and reduce climate disruption risks. This event is presented in the public interest by the Peacemakers of Schoharie County and is free and open to the public. No registration required.
