Middleburgh Library Notes for Thursday, February 23, 2017
Through Tuesday, Feb. 28 the library will have a midwinter book sale in the library’s foyer.
Come and experience the latest trend in relaxation, adult coloring books, on Monday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. Studies how coloring can have a calming effect on the adult mind and helps promote overall wellness. Coloring pages designed especially for adults as well as colored pencils will be provided. This will be a recurring program. We will meet every 3rd Monday of the month at 2 p.m. Registration is required.
Story time
On Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 10:45 a.m. join us for drop-in storytime. Get ready to move in this interactive storytime designed especially for children to age 5 and their caregivers. We'll read books, sing songs, recite fingerplays, dance and watch a short movie based on a weekly theme. No registration required
Mahjong
On Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. men and women are invited to the library for a get together in the community room to play Mahjong. Don't know how to play? They will teach you how. No problem. No registration is required.
Insight meditation
On Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 5:15 p.m. join us for a simple group Zazen meditation practice. All are welcome. No registration is required.
Movie
On Wednesday, March 1 at 1 p.m. join us for a showing of "Hacksaw Ridge" rated R. WWII American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, who served during the Battle of Okinawa, refuses to kill people, and becomes the first man in American history to receive the Medal of Honor without firing a shot. Please be aware that this film is rated R for intense prolonged realistically graphic sequences of war violence including grisly bloody images.
Knitting circle
On Thursday, March 1 at 7 p.m. the friendly ladies knit and crochet, embroider, and quilt, and more. You can learn a new skill here or share your own special talents with others or just craft in the company of friends. Drop in anytime. No registration is required.
