Middleburgh Library Notes for Friday, February 19, 2016
The Middleburgh Library is having a book sale now. Come in and pick up some reading material for the cold winter nights.
Veterans project
The library is participating in the Scarf's for Homeless Veterans project. If you have a free moment, stop in and knit or crochet a few rows on a scarf. The instructions are in the basket of yarn, along with needles needed What a way to do something for our Veterans and spend some time at the library.
Story time
On Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 10:45 a.m., join us at the library for drop-in story time. Get ready to move in this interactive story time designed especially for children up to age 5 and their caregivers. We’ll read books, sing songs, recite fingerplays, dance, and watch a short movie based on a weekly theme. No registration is required.
Mahjong Mania
On Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 1 p.m. men and women are invited to come learn the game of Mahjong. No experience or registration is necessary, just a willingness to learn and have fun.
Insight Meditation
On Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 5:15 p.m. join us for a simple group Zazen meditation practice. All are welcome. No registration is required.
Chair Yoga
On Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 9 a.m. join Vicki DeGroff in the community room for Chair Yoga. There is a $5 donation.
Discovery Wednesday
On Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m., get ready for some rhyming fun We'll be watching "Robot Zot" and more rhyming stories. This program is appropriate for ages 3 and up and their caregivers. Registration is required.
Movie
On Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m., join us for the Wednesday Matinee showing of "The Walk," rated PG.
Kundalini yoga
On Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 5 p.m. join us for Kundalini Yoga. This program involves repetitive movements with the breath, building strength, toning the nerves, and clearing the adrenal glands. Wear comfortable clothing and bring two blankets or a mat and blanket. A $5 donation is requested. Please use the back entrance when entering the building. No registration is required.
Knitting Circle
On Thursday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m., the friendly ladies knit and crochet, embroider, and quilt, and more. You can learn a new skill here, share your own special talents with others or just craft in the company of friends. Drop in anytime. No registration is required.
Concert
On Thursday, March 3, at 7 p.m., join us for a concert with Greg Greenway a multi-faceted, rare combination of instrumental expertise, a soulful and moving singer, powerful poet, and sparkling entertainer.
This event is made possible in part, with public funds from the Decentralization Program and the NYS Council on the Arts, administered through the County Arts Grant Program by the Greene County Council on the Arts. Tickets are available at the door. A $10.00 donation is suggested. Please use back entrance.
